

DESIGNER'S STATEMENT
DESIGN IS THE ACT OF PROBLEM-SOLVING. IT’S WHEN NECESSITY IS MET
WITH FUNCTION AND AESTHETIC. WE ALL EMBODY THE ABILITY TO PROBLEM SOLVE, HOWEVER, IT’S THE POWER OF VISION AND THE COMPREHENSION OF FORM & SURFACE THAT ELEVATE DESIGN TO IMPACT A MOMENT IN TIME AND SPACE.
MY WORK IS A COMBINATION OF UNIQUE COLOR EXPRESSION AND CONSUMER INSIGHT. TWENTY YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN THE SPORTSWEAR AND OUTDOOR INDUSTRY HAS ALLOWED ME TO ACCOMPLISH DREAMS OF A SMALL TOWN GIRL WHO DECIDED TO BECOME A DESIGNER AT THE AGE OF TEN. I'VE BEEN HONORED AND BLESSED WITH THE OPPORTUNITY TO DESIGN THROUGH THE LENS OF COLOR FOR FOOTWEAR, APPAREL, CYCLING, CAMPING GEAR, AND ACCESSORIES FOR SOME OF THE WORLD'S MOST RENOWN BRANDS.

NARRATIVE IS A HUGE COMPONENT OF MY DESIGN PROCESS. AS DESIGNERS, WE HAVE A RESPONSIBILITY TO NOT ONLY CREATE, BUT TO CREATE WITH
PURPOSE. STORYTELLING REVEALS THE PURPOSE AND ENRICHES AN EXPERIENCE. AN IMPACTFUL STORY STIMULATES ALL FIVE SENSES. HOWEVER,
EMOTIONAL EVOCATION IS THE SIXTH SENSE TO TICKLE. STORYTELLING IS THE VEHICLE IN WHICH TO DO SO.
LASTLY, MY LOVE FOR THE CONSUMER IS A CONSTANT MOTIVATOR.
CREATIVES ARE THE VOICE OF THEIR GENERATION. IF WE LISTEN CLOSELY
BEFORE WE EXECUTE, NOT ONLY DO WE CREATE THE MOST COVETED PIECES OF DREAMS, BUT WE ALSO BECOME PART OF SOMETHING GREATER THAN OURSELVES. THESE DREAMS BECOME A PART OF REALITY; EXPRESSING MOMENTS OF A PEOPLE AND THEIR HISTORICAL CULTURE IN SOCIETY.
